a fine dinner

i went down to "nacional 27" tonight for dinner with kyle, hebs, and his fiance sarah. it was 'wine down wednesday' where they offered a free wine pairing with a 5 course dinner. in short, it was stellar, but...

they got 4 of 5 wines correct. the 3rd course had an awful rose (i wish i knew how to insert the 'e' with the accent mark over it) paired with it. maybe the wine wasn't bad, but i've never liked blush wines. it's like they couldn't make up their mind as to what wine they wanted to make.

the other problem - trendy restaurants aren't used to feeding people like me. i could have demolished 6 times what they served and that's no exageration. except for the wine part. i'm a pretty cheap date.

and speaking of food intake, i got my body fat measured yesterday. 5.0%. no wonder the guys from motorola said i had lost a lot of weight even though i'm the same weight i've been for the past 6 years.

5.0?

I'm sitting at 14.5, and that's down 7% since last year at this time. I don't think I've *ever* been below 8%.

And it's alt-0233. é

Good thing I'm making up for both of you. We wouldn't want to have a fat shortage.

let's hear about this wining and dining. You have to remember that good Roses are rare and often hard to come by. I've had 6 or 7 in the past month ranging between $8-50 and I thought they all sucked compared to a nice red table like Falesco's Vitiano ($12) or 'the gabrielle wineries' Vertex ($16). Also, the Chateau Ste. Michelle's Indian Wells Merlot and Chardonay are astounding mid level.
