the endurance race
For about 5 years now, I've been big into endurance sports. Marathons, triathlons, and things that in general, push my body to it's limits. The night before any such event, I get the pre-race jitters and go through my checklists for the next day. Well, Thanksgiving was one such night. I wasn't going to run or bike or swim the next day, but instead, was getting nervous over black friday...the single busiest day in all of retail. I woke up promptly at 2:30am and ate my pre-race meal thinking that it may be my only one of the day. I got to work a a little before 4 and started getting ready. Due to a lot of preparation and some very hard work from my staff, the whole day went smoothly. High volumes, high customer count, and high transactions. A busy, but profitable day. When I finally got home a little past midnight, I sat down on my bedroom floor to take off my shoes. That's where i stayed until my alarm went off at 5:30 this morning. Welcome to the holiday season, my new favorite endurance sport.
