you

eric estrada wants you all to remember:

pico de orizaba

still not inspired to summit el pico de orizaba? check this. how can anyone look at this picture and not want to see that sight for himself? a couple of more convincing details:
- you can get from chicagoland to basecamp for $400.
- lodging will run you less than $100 total for two days before and 1 day after the climb.
- you won't need to kill very much vacation time. after 1 altitude acclimation day, it's possible to summit from basecamp in a single day.
- average summit time is 7 hours. this is 11 months advance notice. anybody can be ready.
- pico de orizaba is the highest peak in mexico and the 3rd highest in North America. Do this one and denali with me and you'll have bagged the 1 and 3 slots.
- last but not least, it's an opportunity to buy new toys. outside of standard hiking gear, crampons and axes are pretty much required to do this one. it's about a $400 investment.

two and half years

that is the length of time it has been since I've had a clean sheet. get your mind out of the gutter you sick bastard, i'm referring to the score of my soccer match tonight. It's been two and a half years since i've last had a shutout playing indoor soccer. And, unlike the last one, i earned this one. It's funny though, the best games that I play, I always feel like shit. Last time it was a cold, this time, I think it was stress from the last few days at work manifesting itself in the form of an illness. On that note, I'm not sure of the legal implications of posting on what's been happening over the past week so for now, you'll all just have to be content guessing. Let's just say that it's not been the most fun week of my life.

In other news, I'm putting together two expedition teams. One for Kilimanjaro (machame route) and one for pico de orizaba near mexico city. Both are to prepare me for denali in '07 (maybe '08 at this rate). If you're interested, fire me an email.
